Hot Axle Champions

What is a Hot Axle Champion? A Hot Axle Champion is someone who is passionate about leadership and making a difference not just in any of our seven Moss Bros. stores, but also on our online community, Hot Axle. We welcome you to meet our Hot Axle Champions. Please feel free to ask them questions about the site, give comments or just say hello!

Richard Chew, Internet Manager, 6 years of service

What's a typical day like for you? Busy from morning to night. I am in the Internet sales department at work and a father of three at home.
What excites you most about Hot Axle? The thing that excites me the most about Hot Axle is the opportunity for all employees to be able to interact and stay in touch with each other. Especially since a lot of us have worked together for years and have moved to different locations. It really builds the culture and camaraderie between employees and departments.
What piece of work are you most proud of at Hot Axle? The piece of work I am most proud of with Hot Axle would have to be the fund-raising especially the organization and participation that was coordinated on Hot Axle for the "Relay for life" that so many employees participated in.
What made you decide to be a Hot Axle Champion?
What helped me decide to become a Hot Axle Champion was the opportunity to be involved in a leadership role in the Moss organization, and be a part of something I believe in.
How have you helped spread the word about Hot Axle? I have helped spread the word about Hot Axle by inviting all my friends and family on Facebook to join, and also by inviting my customers to join as well.
If you won $20 million in the lottery, what would you do with the money? My wife would spend $21 million of it!
If you were a car, what kind would you be? VW bug; Short, round and shiny on top.
What is your favorite car and why? Ram 2500 Mega Cab 4x4 Laramie, for obvious reasons.
What kind of car do you drive? Jeep Commander!

Jesse Lizzarga, 13 years of service

What excites you most about Hot Axle? I am able to talk to co-workers and customers and get to know everyone better.
What piece of work are you most proud of at Hot Axle?
I am most proud of starting new groups that are successful and encourage everyone to get involved.
What made you decide to be a Hot Axle Champion?
It's a great tool for everyone to talk to each other and I love being a Champion.
How have you helped spread the word about Hot Axle? Whenever I go to car show or wrestling show, I tell everyone about it.
Name your top 3 most exciting/funny/scary moments since you started your work as a Hot Axle Champion? It's exciting when you start a group and everyone gets involved, especially when they comment and have fun with what is being posted.
If you were a car, what kind would you be? RAM 3500

David Montecino, Parts Department, 4 years of service

What's a typical day like for you?
A typical day for me is a busy one in the Honda parts department. On my off days, I play basketball, and catch up on home chores.
What excites you most about Hot Axle? Hot Axle is exciting to me because it not only shows you the different facets of the people you already know, but you can also connect with their friends. Like Facebook it is great to connect not only locally but also internationally.
What piece of work are you most proud of at Hot Axle?
I like the whole site and look forward to new features.
What made you decide to be a Hot Axle Champion?
I like networking and finding out new things. Hot Axle also helps me to see my co-workers in a different light.
How have you helped spread the word about Hot Axle?
I have invited my friends from Facebook and circulated some cards around the way.
Name your top 3 most exciting/funny/scary moments since you started your work as a Hot Axle Champion? When we had the surveys in the beginning to gauge the activities of our employees many were very apprehensive and reluctant to share their personal info and details outside of work. Shortly thereafter, they started to be more open to everything…the challenge and success made it exciting.
If you could have one superhero power, would you choose the ability to become invisible or the ability to fly? Why? I would prefer the ability to fly, because it beats being stuck in traffic!
If you could trade places with any other person for a week, famous or not famous, living or dead, real or fictional. with whom would it be? Why?
I don't have any preference, everyone has different paths that they follow, with pros and cons on each side. I guess anybody would do because I like to see the world through different points of view.
If you were a car, what kind would you be?
I would be the most reliable, efficient, comfortable self-powered car around!
What is your favorite car and why?
I like the sport compact cars because they are easy to modify and also have enough room for cargo.

Devon Robles (left), Payroll Administrator, 4 years of service

What's a typical day like for you?
I work in the payroll department at Moss, so every day varies, but a typical day consists of phone calls and paperwork. Phone calls from managers needing help concerning an employee, or paperwork needing to get out for an employee.
What excites you most about Hot Axle?
Being able to interact with Moss employees, since we are all spread out at different dealerships.
What piece of work are you most proud of at Hot Axle?
I submitted a video of my son singing at his aunt's wedding. I wanted to share his talent with my fellow employees.
What made you decide to be a Hot Axle Champion?
When I was told I was chosen to be a Hot Axle Champion, I was happy that they would choose me for this task.
How have you helped spread the word about Hot Axle?
I email the group I am responsible for in making sure they check in to Hot Axle. I let them know what is on the site, try to get them excited. I also let my family know about it.
Name your top 3 most exciting/funny/scary moments since you started your work as a Hot Axle Champion? I have one. It was being approached by a fellow employee wanting me to start a group. It was for a sports team that I am not fond of, but because she asked me to do it for her, I did. I let her know that I wouldn't put anything on the site that was against the team.
If you were a car, what kind would you be? Ferrari
What is your favorite car and why?
I like the Dodge Challenger because it is an awesome looking car.

Robert Davidson, Sales Consultant, 2 years of service

What's a typical day like for you? Work, work and work...
What excites you most about Hot Axle? Being able to communicate with people in the auto group that I normally don't have much interaction with throughout the work day.
What piece of work are you most proud of at Hot Axle? I started a couple of groups and I really like my Quentin Tarantino Fans group.
What made you decide to be a Hot Axle Champion? Some people are born to greatness; others have it thrust upon them. I was asked to fill the position and am excited about doing it. Since coming to the Auto Group, I've bought into the whole "Attitude, Team Play, and Our System" philosophy that has made the Moss family so successful. On any day you can ask to see my white attitude card, and I'll pull it out of my pocket for you. A little tattered and worn, but there nonetheless. It's as much a part of my uniform as my nametag and the pen in my pocket.
How have you helped spread the word about Hot Axle? I try to tell all of the customers I meet to go online and check it out. I also try to get the sales staff involved more.
Name your top 3 most exciting/funny/scary moments since you started your work as a Hot Axle Champion? My most exciting, and rewarding moment on HotAxle was the day I got both of my daughters to join. No easy feat considering that they are seventeen and eighteen years old and are not easily swayed to do anything I want. Kids. Funny? Truthfully, I find a lot of funny things posted daily, whether it be comments or pictures posted by employees, I can almost always be guaranteed a laugh when I log on.
If you could have one superhero power, would you choose the ability to become invisible or the ability to fly? Why? I want to be Superman, and here's why. All the other superheroes have to put on a suit, or a utility belt, or take a pill, or get in a car, but Superman is Superman all the time.
If you could trade places with any other person for a week, famous or not famous, living or dead, real or fictional. with whom would it be? Why? Thomas Jefferson. Not only did he author the Declaration of Independence and help create a new nation, but he also once shot a man on the White House Lawn for Treason. Not bad for a Gentleman Farmer.
If you won $20 million in the lottery, what would you do with the money? I would put the majority of the money in several banks, buy a sailboat and head for the South Pacific where I would spend the rest of my life fishing and chasing Hula Girls.
What is your favorite car and why? Jeep Wrangler. But I'm talking CJ, or YJ. Lifted, locked and winched. Because not only will it get you there, more importantly, it will get you home.

Arash Himmat, Internet Sales Manager, 4 years of service

What's a typical day like for you? My 2 year old daughter is my alarm clock so she wakes me up on time for work. On my days off we go to different places. I love to drive therefore I am never home if I am off.
What excites you most about Hot Axle? Getting to know other people, surprise to see how much knowledge, different thinking and experience we have in Moss Bros. I personally learn a lot from each other's experience and knowledge.
What piece of work are you most proud of at Hot Axle? We do not get to know and talk to every single person at Moss Bros, but Hot Axle is the avenue to communicate with each other. Learn and get to know them.
What made you decide to be a Hot Axle Champion? I am a person who likes to meet and know everyone. I love to learn and share my thoughts with everyone.
How have you helped spread the word about Hot Axle? I mention the community to my customers, epecially those who have been buying cars from Moss Bros for years and they keep coming to get the same service and experience they have been getting year after year.
Name your top 3 most exciting/funny/scary moments since you started your work as a Hot Axle Champion? I only have exciting moments, I cannot recall any scary moments. Getting to know everyone, being part of their family, and sharing the knowledge and experiences of life.
If you could have one superhero power, would you choose the ability to become invisible or the ability to fly? Why? Ability to fly since I love to travel all over the world and see and experience all the foods and culture.
If you could trade places with any other person for a week, famous or not famous, living or dead, real or fictional. with whom would it be? Why? Bill Gates because I would like to experience how it feels to be one of the richest men in the world.
If you won $20 million in the lottery, what would you do with the money? It's a dream that everyone wants! If I won, I would pay off my house, get my finances in place and I will retire, travel and enjoy life because "life is short so live it to its extreme".
If you were a car, what kind would you be? I would be a Honda Civic because it's popular and everywhere.
What is your favorite car and why? I would love to have a convertible car, like a Mercedes Benz.

Ron Adams, more than 19 years of service

What piece of work are you most proud of at Hot Axle? The Official Moss Bros. Auto Group San Diego Chargers Fan Club Group.
What made you decide to be a Hot Axle Champion?
I was flattered to be asked and accepted when I worked at Toyota. I like being able to help others get the most from Hot Axle, especially from joining groups or helping them to create their own.
How have you helped spread the word about Hot Axle? Since becoming the Finance Director at Chevrolet and Honda, I welcome each new employee of those stores to the organization, I am sure to encourage each them to build a page of their own and offer to help them if they need it. I was designated a Hot Axle Champion at Toyota and while I do not work there anymore, I actively promote the site to every employee at the stores I work at now. I believe that EVERY Moss Bros. employee has stories to tell and Hot Axle is a great place to share them.
Name your top 2 most exciting/funny/scary moments since you started your work as a Hot Axle Champion? Creating the Official Moss Bros. Auto Group San Diego Chargers Fan Club Group and having it become the MOST POPULAR sports related group on Hot Axle in less than a week.
If you could trade places with any other person for a week, famous or not famous, living or dead, real or fictional. with whom would it be? Why? To trade places would mean that person would have to be able to do what I do for a week...Hmmm...I have always admired anyone who excels at what they do. Athletes, artists, etc. Jack Davis is an extremely talented artist and I would enjoy doing what he does for a week. I just don't think he could do what I do for a week. Pretty sure he would leave me with quite a mess when we traded back.
If you were a car, what kind would you be? Chevrolet Camaro...Kind of old school, kind of now, head-turner...
What is your favorite car and why? Toss up between Chev Tahoe, Camaro and Honda Accord Crosstour. I like the versatility of the Tahoe and Crosstour and the awesome techie stuff that they can do (Nav, MP3, etc.)...The Camaro is classic, but modern.

Kim Pacheco, 3 years of service

How have you helped spread the word about Hot Axle? Talking a lot about the benefits of the community.
Name your top exciting/funny/scary moment since you started your work as a Hot Axle Champion? I'm excited about talking about Raiders football – go Raiders!
If you could have one superhero power, would you choose the ability to become invisible or the ability to fly? Why? I'd like to be invisible so I can hang out in Glenn Moss' office! ;)
If you could trade places with any
other person for a week, famous or not famous, living or dead, real or
fictional. with whom would it be? Why?
Chad Ochocinco so I could be in a crazy, fun man version of myself!
If you won $20 million in the lottery, what would you do with the money? Give it to my husband to delegate!
If you were a car, what kind would you be and why? I'd be an FJ Cruiser so I could go anywhere, anytime and look supercalifradulistic!
